ISO 50001 Energy Management System
Werner & Mertz has long had an energy management system whose success is obvious. With the help of this system and cost-cutting measures, we have achieved a significant reduction in the consumption of electricity and fuel. From 2004 to 2011, consumption decreased from 0.253 kWh to 0.147 kWh per kilogram of filling quantity, corresponding to a cut by approximately 42 percent.
To continue this success, we obtained ISO 50001 certification in 2013 for our energy management systems in Mainz and Hallein (Austria). ISO 50001, an internationally valid standard for systematic energy management, considers monitoring and steering of operational energy data and implementation of other technical steps.
The primary goal of ISO 50001 is the continuous improvement of a company's energy performance indicators, its energy efficiency and energy savings. Strictly enforced energy management measures help us to recognize energy efficiency potential and to exploit it more effectively.
