Always one generation ahead of the rest
Visitors to the CMS trade show in Berlin can gain insight into sustainable closed-loop concepts at the tana-Chemie stand. In keeping with the green-Effective® guiding principle “do the right things right”, tana-Chemie GmbH will present its innovations for a circular economy at the CMS 2017 trade show for cleaning systems and infrastructure services in Berlin from 19 to 22 September.
Meeting of Pioneers Generates New Ideas for Circular Economy
Werner & Mertz participated at the Cradle to Cradle® Expert Talks in Vienna about "closing the loop". Latest achievements and developments of the Recyclate Initative, a pioneering initative for packaging recyclability, were presented by Frank Vancraeyveld, CEO of tana-Chemie, and Immo Sander, Head of Packaging Development at Werner & Mertz. Furthermore the Material Health Certification in GOLD was credited to the new printing inks which Siegwerk Druckfarben worked out together with Werner & Mertz.
Recyclate Initiative: PackTheFuture Award for Sustainable Design
Recyclate Initiative receives the PackTheFuture Award in the Ecodesign category for its innovative bottles made of 100% HDPE recyclates from the Yellow Bag collection system
Sustainable Printing Inks for product labels
In driving integral circular economy, the Recyclate Initiative from the Werner & Mertz Group is taking on a new challenge. Now that the green care PROFESSIONAL bottles are made of 100% recycled material, a breakthough into sustainable printing is made. The product labels are produced with printing inks according to the Cradle-to-Cradle® principle.
The solution is on land: No plastic in the oceans
The use of old plastic for new packaging, known as Recyclate Initiative, has achieved recognition as a best practice example way beyond Germany's borders. In mid-March Reinhard Schneider, CEO and sole owner of Werner & Mertz GmbH, was invited to two conferences in Brussels and Berlin to speak about the family-owned company's commitment to sustainability.
QUICK & EASY wins Innovation Award in UK
Great success of the partnership with arrow county supplies in the United Kingdom. Supporting the New Plastics Economy: Action Plan to Reduce Plastics in the World's Oceans
The shocking claim by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in its New Plastics Economy report that "more plastic than fish would be swimming in the world's oceans by 2050" raced from last year's World Economic Forum around the globe. And it appears to have shaken up many people. At this year's World Economic Forum in Davos, 40 industry leaders signed a declaration and committed to recycling more plastic in future. As a supporter of the New Plastics Economy, the Mainz-based family-run Werner & Mertz cheered this step toward sustainable handling of plastics around the world.
CLP regulation as stimulus for innovation
On a regular basis the guidelines for Classification, Labelling and Packaging of chemical sustances and mixtures (CLP regulation) are being tightened. Werner & Mertz Professinoal takes these more stringent regulations not as an obstacle but much more as an incentive for new and innovative solutions.
